Nuestra comunidad nuestra gente

With the future of LULAC uncertain, one thing is clear: Domingo Garcia is the right man to continue leading our beloved organization. Garcia’s lifelong commitment to LULAC, to our communities and our people, is a beacon in a long, dark night. Re-elect Domingo Garcia. Help LULAC keep up the fight for a brighter tomorrow for Latinos.

Vanessa Guillen

Seeking Justice for Army Spc. Vanessa Guillen

As LULAC President, Garcia led the charge in attaining justice for Army Spc. Vanessa Guillen by advocating for the passage of the I Am Vanessa Guillen Act, which protects victims of sexual violence in the military.

Fighting Corrupt Immigration Laws

Never sitting idly by, Garcia fought tooth and nail against former President Trump’s vile immigration laws. He has led LULAC’s mission to help migrants at the border.

Essential Workers

Championing Protections for Essential Workers

Garcia’s tireless efforts to create safe working conditions for America’s Latino essential workers led to major overhauls in some of the country’s biggest meatpacking plants. Garcia didn’t lead from afar either — he traveled across the country to advocate in person for worker safety in the COVID-19 era.

Womens Rights

Advocating for Women's Rights

Senate Bill 8 made abortions illegal even before a woman might know she is pregnant. In light of this, Garcia advocated for women’s rights, saying that the Texas law would disproportionately affect women of color.

Voting Rights

Defending Voting Rights for Latinos

Garcia led LULAC in filing a lawsuit against election officials in multiple Texas counties on charges of violating the civil rights of Latino voters and celebrated when a Texas judge upheld Latino voting rights.

LGBT Rights

A fierce defender of LGBTQ Rights

Garcia’s unequivocal position is that all people, regardless of their sexual orientation, are entitled to equal rights. This is a nonnegotiable position and one that Garcia is proud to take in an age in which the rights of all people should no longer be a question.

Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico

Near and dear to Domingo’s heart are the people of Puerto Rico. He categorically supports the inclusion of all voices and sectors of the Puerto Rican community in determining their own future. By extension, he champions a movement for a fair and transparent democratic process on the island. He believes that we must do all we can to engage Congressional Representatives, support legislative proposals, and promote the outcomes of votes taken by Puerto Rico’s residents.
